Get There! Spend time with God.

Spend time with God!

We think we're so special somehow, because of our times and affluence.

We are special, and at the same time I fear we're " wretched, pitiful, poor, blind and naked," just as Jesus described the Laodicean church in Rev 3:13-19.

I hear the Lord saying to me, "You've got to spend time with me. In the mornings would be best. You need to be under the waterfall of my presence; then go from there refreshed, washed, and well to face the day ahead - sensitive to the presence and leading of my Spirit." We need to make it a habit! It's our part, of living a "Spirit led life."

I went to hear Dr./General/Pastor H.D. McCarty speak at the Muldrow High School last night, where the churches and pastors of the city are hosting a unity meeting! One of many tidbits of spiritual food I came away with was this. "Yes every Christian needs to rise early to spend time with the Lord. We think so that we can enjoy a Spirit led productive day. That's true. But if you do, you've already experienced the most powerful and important activity of the day!" Amen.
Our pastor is away spending 2 1/2 days with God as I type. Thank God for him and his leadership in this important area.

Happy reading, praying, meditating, and habit building. -=db=-

"Very early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house and went off to a solitary place, where he prayed." (Mark 1:35 NIV)

Dan Davis on Relationship

Dan Davis, long time friend of Pastor Craig and CCF spoke July 13th. I want to repeat here just a couple things he said, and encourage you to listen to his words and heart via CD or the web, again or for the first time.
He talked about what the Lord was doing in Austin, TX where he and Joann live. How does he know the Lord is doing something redemptive in his city? Because so many church leaders are coming together in unity.
He talked about what that looked like. Small groups where people walk deeply with each other, and meet in each other's homes. "People are looking for a safe place for relationships."
Neither your church, nor any institution is holding you back. You have the Spirit of God, the sovereign Lord, in you. You can do His bidding in His power. If you're willing and wanting to do so.
He shared so many good things, but I'll close with this one, and you can hear his message via the web or CD. Someone asked Lesslie Newbigin, the British Theologian, if he was an optimist or a pessimist? He replied, "I believe that Jesus Christ was raised from the dead."
Good answer! Good realization in which to live your life! Go in His power. Go with God. To your family, to your friends, into the world.
Blessings,
Dwayne

Pray for Yourselves

"Wake up the mighty men!" That was the instruction Bobby heard from the Lord several months ago and not much has changed since we heard that. Dwayne and I were talking the other day wondering what we can do to fulfill our role in that process. What came was that when the men see Jesus in us, they will awaken. You may sense additional ways but one that is burning in my heart is that we pray Eph. 1:17-20. Pray it first for yourself, then pray it for each of your brothers. I believe that if we do this consistently and diligently we will begin to see Him, and when we see Him we will be like Him.
I am so grateful to be joined with you men. Men and brothers that have a sincere and passionate desire to know and please our Father of Glory. In Him... Brian

That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him: The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints, And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power, Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places, Eph 1:17-20

I pray Father that you would give me your Spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of your Son Jesus: that the eyes of my understanding may be opened; that I may know what is the hope of your calling for my life, and what is the glorious wealth of the inheritance laid up for me because I am your son, and that through your mighty power working in me that I might believe in the exceeding greatness of your power towards me, in the same way that it was demonstrated in Christ Jesus when you raised Him from the dead, and set Him at your right hand in heaven.
