The Next Years

The LORD is exalted, for He dwells on high; He will fill Zion with justice and righteousness. He will be the sure foundation for your times, a rich store of salvation and wisdom and knowledge; the fear of the LORD is the key to this treasure.

Men Who Know the Times and What to Do

Mark Correll came last Sunday with a stirring word about the times and perhaps how little we have left. It has special emphasis or passion when it comes from a stage four cancer survivor well acquainted with M.D. Anderson. He took his text from Jesus words after his disciples asked him about the last days - the "time" and the "signs" of the time. His words were clear, riveting and compelling. You can hear his two messages on the CCF website.

A summary of Mark's teaching might be this. The present evidence for Jesus stated "signs" of the last days is overwhelmingly complete. If he correctly has interpreted the prophetic meaning of "the fig tree blossoming" being Israel becoming a nation again in 1948 and a "generation" being seventy years - then Jesus return will be between now and 2018! Many Bible scholars and theologians believe the "fig tree" and "generation" interpretation to be the same as Mark's.

Jason Kissenger came along Wednesday night a taught our men a strong word on becoming a strong community focusing on "the times", valuing and using all the spiritual gifts to mature and function in unity, staying focused on Jesus and his eternal kingdom.

What do you do with that? Do you feel like one of the "men of Issachar" in David's day, "who understood the times and what Israel should do?" What's God saying to you and to us in these words recently delivered to CCF? Let me hear your thoughts. Perhaps I'll share some later....

Israel, Always in the News...

Greetings in the Name of Jesus. I ran across this Dennis Prager video link today and felt led to pass it along. It's to the point, factual, insightful and instructive about Israel ... Her Past, Present, and Future. So if you would like a little refresher on the facts about Israel, you'll appreciate that and this.

By the way, I've been asked to help lead a group from our area to Israel in November 2011. Get your thinking, planning and saving hats on and let me know if you are interested in this "earth life" pilgrimage. As scattered Jews around the world said for about twenty centuries, "Next year in Jerusalem!"

Shalom to you and those you love. -=db=-
