"Warning" Brian Fields (response to Bobby Burns)

Bobby
I read this morning the Scriptures you shared and am in complete agreement with you. One on one. Each of us must begin to speak to men one on one, whenever we see them, or as the Lord leads us to visit. I felt He impressed on me "what manner of men ought we to be" so I tried to find it in with my Strong's but could not. I then heard "hasten His appearing" so I tried to find it also but had no luck. Then I'm not sure how, but I ended up in 2 Peter and found in verses 11-12 " Seeing then that all these things will be dissolved what manner of persons ought you to be in all holy conduct and godliness. Looking for (watch, to anticipate in thought, hope, or fear) and hastening (to urge on, await eagerly) the coming of the day of the Lord, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat." I believe the Lord is telling us that "in the hastening we have a part to play in the fulfillment of His word, a destiny to fulfill" and He waiting for us to respond. But in verses 7-9 He is telling us that "there is a day of judgement" and that even though in Him "one day is as a thousand years and a thousand years as one day" He "is not slack concerning His promise" and that at some point the window of opportunity will close. He is calling us in these last days (how many do we have?) because He does not desire for us to perish "but that we should all come to repentance." The question is, what is our response to these things?
Brian
