to SERVE

“But it is not this way among you, but whoever wishes to become great among you shall be your servant; and whoever wishes to be first among you shall be slave of all. “For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many.” (Mark 10:43–45, NASB95)

“Servant” -- I don’t think we see the importance in our day and time. We need to. We must, if we’re to be like our Master. If we’re to please Him Who Is Holy, and created us for His good pleasure.

Paul wrote to the church in Corinth, Therefore I exhort you, be imitators of me.” (1 Corinthians 4:16, NASB95)

Mr Bill could have said this to us in reference to being a servant. As one person after another gave tribute to Bill and honored him at his home going celebration last week, much was said about his love for God and people, and his legendary exercise of his gift of service.

Thank you Mr. Bill for loving and serving among us. And for showing us the way with your life.
